As the studio puts it, "every pattern is the result of a musical exploration"—in that 2y1dea designers seek to narrate the different stories found in the diverse musical genres of their Latin American region (Colombia).

Pensamientos 17 is "Air", a handcrafted design that reflects the idea of open-ended streams and flow. The colorful hands break up the concentric rings and hypnotic angles designed by 2y1dea. All-in-all a harmonious pattern/design presented as a minimalistic and yet intricate background for your time-telling purposes. 2y1dea is a creative design studio/collective, based in Santiago de Cali, Colombia—lead by Alejandro Delgado. Recently this group of designers conducted an experiment, devising intricate, hypnotic patterns based on the native and local rhythms of Colombian music. "Based on these rhythms we have created a kind of pentagram alphabet, an abstraction perhaps, almost intuitive and spontaneous reaction to what we hear and see... We just wanted to translate it into everyday objects."
