Marchesi Mazzei has a long history, with close links to the wine world, the Mazzei family name can be traced to the Carmiganano region during the early 11th century. Their Tuscan estate, Castello di Fonterutoli has a distinguished past, and was once used as a rest-stop between Florence and Siena throughout the Roman Empire. Retaining its original structure, the castle and its land have belonged to the Mazzei family since 1435. Today, after almost six centuries, Marchesi Mazzei continues in their quest for excellence, producing some Italy’s most sought-after and collectible wines.

The 2013 Mazzei Philip Cabernet Sauvignon is complex and exotic with waves of bittersweet chocolate, spices, cinnamon, clove, and mint, mingled in a delectable dance of flavors. Rich and opulent yet supple and silky, it is full bodied with polished tannins and a fresh, long finish. The Tuscan estates create aromatic complexity, depth of color and powerful structure while simultaneously lending minerality, elegance and finesse to the wine.
