Romeo Vineyards sources fruit for this 2015 Sempre Vive Chard from Silverado Winery’s vineyard (owned by the Disney family) in the prestigious Stags Leap AVA. Light, yet vibrant with citrus, pineapple, and crunchy green apple, this 2015 also shows refreshing acidity and pleasing palate depth. Winemaker Alison Green-Doran, one of California’s first female winemakers, grew up on a vineyard and trained with one of the wine world’s greats. A veteran, with 30+ years in the industry, it’s no surprise that her wines get high marks with critics -- and huge praise from fans.

Almost black in color, the 2010 Ankh Cabernet Sauvignon is rich and bold, with powerful fruit and plenty of tannins for structure. This wine is built for the long haul. The final blend came from four separate vineyards across Napa Valley, and favored mountain sites more than in past years.

The 2012 Ankh Cabernet Sauvignon was a fantastic, but tannic vintage in Napa Valley that will require a little more patience for the wines to reach their peak. This Ankh is a blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, and the rest Petite Verdot and Cabernet Franc.

From a winery so tiny, many in the industry are unfamiliar with the name, this complex and bold 2015 Muscatine Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the emerging Soda Canyon region—a pristine place of awesome natural beauty that remains relatively unknown, even by many locals. It offers intense, dark fruit aromas and a deep, inky color. A plush, velvety mouthfeel frames rich flavors of dark berries, coffee, mocha and toasted oak, all backed by a distinctive smoothness and a lingering, silky finish. mountain sites more than in past years. We delayed the release of this wine to allow for additional time in the bottle, but the 2010 Ankh is now ready to enjoy and will continue to improve over the next decade.

Muscatine’s 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon shows the year’s typical concentration and depth. The drought was tough on many California farmers but proved to produce amazing wines up and down the Napa Valley. This dark, subtle Cab shows red berry and blackcurrant fruit with a youthfully tannic sensation in the mouth. An ager, as well as a delight to drink now with red meats.
