The AirBolt luggage lock will talk to your phone with an app, so you can unlock it with a single push of a button. To prevent accidental unlocking, the AirBolt will simply re-lock itself if the rope is not taken out of the locking mechanism quickly, but the lock is still TSA-compliant, meaning it's safe to check your locked luggage. You can also use the app to set alerts, which keep track of your luggage via Crowdsourced Location Tracking, and notify you if it's removed from a designated area, or let you ping your luggage if you can't find it. Through the compatible app you can even turn off TSA Access.

What happens when TSA unlocks luggage and forgets to put lock back on?

It is very rare that such an occasion occurs. AirBolt being TSA compliant means this should not happen.

How can I verify this is TSA compliant?

We have the red diamond on the AirBolt and the barrel with code JYL TSA 007. This diamond and barrel mechanism is only provided to compliant and accepted manufacturers and cannot be bought.

What happens if your phone runs out of battery? Is there a manual way of opening it?

There sure is! When you set up the lock you can also enter your very own backup button code. So should you want phone-less access, you can use the buttons on the AirBolt to unlock it so it's never an issue. Also, you can always log in to your account on the app using any phone. Finally, if you ever need to change the code, simply open the app and change it anytime.

Is there a service fee for the app and services the app provides?

No, there are no service fees or additional fees for both our Travel Sized Lock or Card.
