Airweave was born when designer and engineer Motokuni Takaoka inherited a fishing line company from his uncle. After a car accident left Motokuni sleepless at night, he began looking to his fishing line factory and discovered something: resin fibers could be applied to the way we sleep. By weaving the fine fishing line, he developed their proprietary airfiber® technology, a material that perfectly supports and distributes weight. Since the first mattress topper shipped in 2007, Airweave has expanded to a range of lifestyle, travel, and technology sleep products in Japan, and has been adopted by elite athletes and organizations worldwide to help them perform at the highest level.
