The Sinker Cypress Ballpoint Twist Pen is a medium to heavy weight twist pen with a unique twist mechanism. Instead of separating the pen into two parts with a center band, the mechanism is incorporated into the grip. This one-piece body is designed to show off the beauty of the Sinker Cypress wood.
Before the industrial revolution loggers practiced log driving - where floating logs down-river to a temporary sawmill was the first step in the process of creating lumber. Occasionally logs would sink and become trapped in the silt at the bottom of the river. If enough silt was laid down before rot and erosion set in, the log would be preserved. Today these century-old remnants of pre-industrial America are recovered from the bottom of river beds and used to craft the Sinker Cypress writing instruments.
