This Egyptian Painted Wood Pane originates in Ancient Egypt, during the Ptolemaic period, circa 332-30 BC. A beautiful Egyptian painted wooden panel, it is likely from a sarcophagus, comprised of painted gesso plaster over wood. It is vibrantly colored in blue, red, and yellow paint with multiple hieroglyphic signs on the surfaces representing protection.
