Sasanian Persia, 3rd-6th century AD. A large carnelian stamp seal depicting a bull with large hump, walking left (impression shows it walking right). Dark root-beer color, with some abrasion around the edges and around the holes, most likely due to having been mounted in a gold or bronze mount in antiquity. W: 20mm. Comes with clay seal impression. ex-New Jersey estate collection.
