Product Description

A wonderful Hindu brass statuette depicting three heads of Shiva (Shivalingam), dating to the early 1900’s. The three heads represent three of the main powers of Shiva: creation, protection, and destruction. Shiva is known as the Destroyer of Darkness, and symbolizes that we are capable of overcoming our inner demons and destroy our suffering through spiritual growth… self awakening, self awareness, and self control, transforming the darkness into light. Votary objects such as this figurine are found in Shiavite shrines and temples throughout India and the Hindu world. Mounded on antique wood base. Excellent detail, the brass with dark toning.
