Product Description

Etruscan, c. 300-200 BC. An attractive Etruscan bronze handle attachment cast with a female mask with streaming hair, perhaps Medusa. Featuring heavy construction and made from a piece of furniture of bronze vessel, the frontal face nicely incised with elaborate hair, three projections at lower portion and large loop at top. Nicely patinated and attractive! A near identical parallel in the British Museum, donated to the museum in 1918.
