Rare Sumerian Stone Plaque // 3rd Millennium BC
A rare Sumerian limestone plaque, c. 3rd Millennium BC. Rectangular in form, one side with incised central figure in profile with a quadruped to the side. They are bordered by a zigzag pattern. The opposite side bearing a centrally divided rectangle bordered by the same incised zigzag pattern. One of the long sides of the piece possesses three drilled holes, perhaps to insert votive offerings in antiquity. An interesting piece with some wear and deposits.
