Pre-Columbian. Ancient Mexico, 100 BC - 250 AD. Nice Jalisco ceramic whistle from West Mexico. In the form of a cute bird, done in grey slip with glossy burnished surfaces and light deposits. Still makes a wonderful high-pitched whistling sound when blown through! Well-preserved and quite cute.
