Ancient Roman Egypt, 3rd Century AD. A rare ceramic oil lamp, the discus featuring Eros (Cupid) seated cross-legged, beside him is a shattered amphora. Made of dark red-brown micaceous clay. The lamp’s shoulder with impressed ovules. The spout is still charred from use in antiquity!
