Product Description

The Bristlecone Pine is one of the oldest living organisms on the planet, and some of these trees have been discovered to be over 4,000 years old. The trees are so old, in fact, that they helped to refine the process of carbon dating. The trees grow in incredibly difficult environments, but thrive in them at the same time. This old tree epitomizes the Bristlecone with its gnarled limbs and incredibly resinous wood. Shooting these trees is a privilege Andrew Quist does not take lightly. He feels honored somehow, every time he get the chance to shoot one.

Andrew Quist

In 2006 I borrowed my dad’s little Canon Digital Rebel for a trip I took to Tennessee. I started playing with all the options that a digital SLR camera afforded and stretched out in the freedom of the digital format. That was it, I fell in love with the art. My Dad gave me my own camera that following Christmas and then I was off! Over the next few years I took my camera everywhere with me and began developing my eye. It was my interest in the Sierra Nevada and live music performance in which I really found my focus in photography.
