Product Description

This image was taken on the Tuolumne River, in the early summer of 2010. Andrew Quist was walking around in the water doing some test shots and was bound to wrap up his shoot for the day. As he got out of the water looked down, he saw this partially submerged rock that looked like the outline of a face. There was a leaf sitting right where the eye would happen to be. He quickly shot it and went home. Playing with the image later in processing, the face jumped from the monitor even more that what he had seen in person. He still considers it one of his favorite images.

Andrew Quist

In 2006 I borrowed my dad’s little Canon Digital Rebel for a trip I took to Tennessee. I started playing with all the options that a digital SLR camera afforded and stretched out in the freedom of the digital format. That was it, I fell in love with the art. My Dad gave me my own camera that following Christmas and then I was off! Over the next few years I took my camera everywhere with me and began developing my eye. It was my interest in the Sierra Nevada and live music performance in which I really found my focus in photography.
