Product Description

Anne Amie Vineyards is on a mission to produce wines inspired by Burgundy and Alsace that still express the unique characteristics of their estate vineyards in their beloved home state of Oregon.

When Dr. Robert Pamplin, one of Oregon’s most forward-thinking philanthropists and businessmen, purchased the historic Chateau Benoit Winery in 1999, his vision was to create wines of the highest quality to reflect his passion for excellence. To this end, Dr. Pamplin has charged winemaker Thomas Houseman and winegrower Peter Ebbers with the task of crafting extraordinary Pinot Noir. Thomas, Peter, and the rest of the crew are passionate about producing wines of the finest quality and have dedicated their lives to this quest.

Pinot reigns supreme at Anne Amie, with Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Blanc forming the heart of their production. Complementing the Pinot family is the Old-Vine Estate Müller Thurgau, planted in 1979. As with all great wines, these start in the vineyards. Anne Amie is fortunate to have some of Oregon’s best sites, all of which are Salmon Safe and LIVE certified. These estate vineyards, along with those they purchase from, receive only the minimal required treatments, and yields are dramatically reduced in favor of fruit with great depth and complexity.

This 2015 Anne Amie Twelve Oaks Estate Pinot Noir was awarded 92 Points by Robert Parker, and hails from the Twelve Oaks Estate. The estate consists of multiple vineyard blocks, each with unique expressions to ensure an abundance of distinct flavors for blending. The Chehalem Mountains are home to Laurelwood soil, which produces wines with a core of red and black plum flavors and soft, plush tannins for a beautiful mouthfeel.

Aroma: cocoa nibs, dark cherries, madrone tree, black plums, red velvet cake, anise, maple, bramble.

Flavor: dark chocolate, dark cherry, roasted chicory, black currant, black plum, baking spices.

Finish: long, with ample tannins and acidity.

Suggested Food Pairings: Bolognese, duck with cherries, pumpkin risotto, caramelized onion and celery root tart, bison rib eye, delicata squash ravioli with brown butter and sage.
