While it is possible to sharpen a serrated or scalloped knife we do NOT recommend doing so.
Can this be used to sharpen shears?No. We do not recommend using the XBlade to sharpen scissors or shears.
How often can you use it?You can use the AnySharp regularly, as often as your knives need sharpening.
How does sharpening with this compare to a sharpening stone?As you draw your knife through the XBlade, the sharpening tools will move up and down with varying pressure. As you draw your knife back, the sharpening action is similar to the fine grinding effect of a whetstone or sharpening stone.
Are batteries required?No, no batteries are required.
Can it sharpen swords?Any Sharp products are primarily intended to be used with knives, however they are capable of sharpening a wide variety of bladed items. If the blade of the item fits into the sharpening area then your Any Sharp should sharpen it. However, as when using the sharpener with knives, the device should be firmly fixed to a smooth surface and only light strokes towards you should be used. The blade of the implement should not be forced into the device. Caution should be exercised at all times when using an Any Sharp knife sharpener or when handling sharp blades of any kind.
