Reaching lengths of 70 feet or more, they ruled the oceans for more than 10 million years, feeding on whales and other huge sea creatures. There are those that believe the Megalodon could still exist in the depths of the ocean, but most scientists agree they went extinct around a million years ago, possibily due to climate change, or competition for food from rivals like the killer whale.
