Standing at a total height of 1,729 ft., the Willis Tower is the 22nd tallest building in the world and the second tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, behind One World Trade Center in New York City.

Upon its construction, the then Sears Tower was the world’s tallest building holding the title for almost 25 years until 1998 when the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lampur were completed. The Sears Tower was renamed the Willis Tower in 2009. Today the Willis Tower is still the world’s tallest steel construction building.
