The Heritage Avo is so called because it is made from an original Avo Meter manufactured anywhere from the late 1930s to the early 1960s. These were the definitive piece of electrical testing equipment used by engineers, lecturers, electricians, and the military worldwide.

These iconic pieces of testing equipment known to millions of engineers of the era are sourced from from universities and companies that no longer had a use for them. They all have their own story to tell and can range from an early MK 7 up to a Avo 8 MK III. They are all original, and may well have the odd mark or dent! Some have handles, some are missing – just depends on the life each particular meter has had. It is a random selection which one you will receive. Each Meter is then carefully cleaned, and any broken glass replaced. It is then fitted with a Nixie Clock in the dial, and what would have been thrown away now gets to carry on its journey!

Does this make any noise when in use? What do the dials on the unit do?

No, it is completely silent in operation.
The dials on the front are the original control knobs, used to select which range to measure, before the instrument was converted into a clock. Now they are just decorative.

Does it work in Europe too?

Yes, they are made in the UK and will work anywhere.
