The 2012 Alder Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon was awarded 91 Points from Wine Enthusiast and 90 Points from critic Stephen Tanzer. The color is an impressive dark ruby and garnet core with a crimson rim. Concentrated and intense, the flavor has nuances of cocoa, forest floor, truffles and red currant back up dark cherry and kirsch. A slight capsicum note gives this wine its varietal thumbprint without being overbearing. Round and generous with great flavor intensity and a persistent finish, this wine is seductive and polished.
The 2014 Browne Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon is inky red, and almost black in color. A classic Cabernet Sauvignon, its flavor is heavily concentrated with black cherry, truffle oil and savory flavors of herb and mint, accented by aromas of dusty earth and graphite. Medium heavy tannins are balanced with bright, clean acidity, to finish with a good coating on the tongue.
The 2013 Ross Andrew Winery Cabernet Sauvignon is dark red with a solid black core. The intense black fruit aromatics are bolstered by beautiful red currant, fresh cedar, and a hint of spice. The balanced, rich Red Mountain palate, also takes on the great savory side of Cabernet Sauvignon: black olive, mineral, and even liquid iron.
Finally, a 2010 Waterbrook Icon Cabernet Sauvignon. This amazing Cabernet Sauvignon provides bold flavors and aromas of ripe currant and plum accentuated by toasted oak with a smooth and lingering finish. Bold and rich with developed aromatics of blackberry, cherry, cedar, leather, and cocoa powder, the palate continues with deep blackberry jam, huckleberry, and black currant. The oak structure guides the way to lingering cocoa powder on the finish.
