While on a quest to construct a sustainable biolight, the scientists at BioPop began experimenting with a particular type of bioluminescent plankton called dinoflagellates, as a possible light source. Along the way, they realized that the "dinos" required too much external stimulation to make a truly sustainable biolight, and that, with the plankton's love of movement, warmth, and attention, they were sort of like pets. So, Biopop decided to go ahead and create the greatest pet ever: tiny glass aquarium filled with dinoflagellates that creates light shows when you shake it. This incredible living system thrives under a a minimal amount of nurturing - but the better cared-for they are, the brighter the light will be.
