BLACKENED began as a collaborative effort between influential rock band Metallica and Master Distiller & Blender Dave Pickerell. After Dave's passing in late 2018, Master Distiller Rob Dietrich joined the team. Unlikely collaborators on the surface, the BLACKENED team shares creative passion and dedicated craft making them anything but ordinary. Named after one of Metallica's iconic songs, BLACKENED is an unconventional whiskey of uncompromising quality.

BLACKENED American Whiskey is a blend of hand-selected, well-aged bourbons and ryes from across North America. Using their proprietary BLACK NOISE™ finishing process, each batch of whiskey is blasted with its very own Metallica playlist, selected by the Drew and Rob, and sequenced by Lars Ulrich. The low-frequency sound waves force the whiskey to penetrate deeper into the black brandy casks, extracting more caramel, honey, and vanilla flavors from the wood. This results in a magnificently balanced whiskey that's robust in flavor and ideal for sipping neat, on the rocks, or in your favorite classic cocktail.

Tasting Notes
— Nose: Burnt caramel, oak, and honey
— Palate: Honey, cinnamon, allspice, dark fruit, clove, and mint
— Finish: Long and smooth, slightly creamy with hints of butterscotch taffy, maple, and honey

— 2 Parts Blackened American Whiskey
— 1 Part Campari
— 1 Part Dry Vermouth
— Orange Essence
— Maraschino Cherry

1. Add all ingredients to a mixing glass
2. Add ice and stir until chilled
3. Strain into a cocktail glass or pour over a large cube into a rocks glass
4. Garnish with orange essence and Maraschino cherry

— 2 Parts Blackened American Whiskey
— 2-3 Parts Ginger Ale
— 2-3 Parts Club Soda
— Orange Essence
— Ginger or Citrus Garnish

1. Add the whiskey to a highball glass over ice
2. Top with equal amounts of ginger ale and soda
3. Garnish with grated ginger or citrus
