In 1988, while vacationing in Italy, Bruce Kaminstein fell in love with a mop at an international design show. Inspired by this elegantly designed cleaning tool, he returned to his family hardware store in New York determined to create well-designed cleaning and cooking tools that looked as well as they performed. He built a team of talented designers and started Casabella, with a name inspired by the auspicious trip that started it all.
