An outstanding Cast & Crew restoration—this chair's original X base was sandblasted of its 60 year old surface rust and oxidation to receive a refreshing new twist with Cast & Crew's signature neon red powder-coated finish - a hot new look for an old team player. A rare and early production of the DAX chair model - this "Elephant Hide Grey" Eames for Herman Miller arm chair reigns from the infamous Zenith Plastic's factory in Gardena, CA - the original manufacturer the Eames molded fiberglass chair. Classifed by collectors as a" 2nd Generation Zenith", this chair's production would date between 1953-56—ultimately defined as an early example of the design by its much larger shock mount fasteners, heavier fiberglass distribution and early X base.
