1928 $ 20 Federal Reserve #12 San Francisco "REDEEMABLE IN GOLD" PMG 65 EPQ # 455

Being offered today is a VERY RARE “REEEMABLE IN GOLD” example of a 1928 $20.00 Federal Reserve series note graded PMG 65 EXCEPTIONAL PAPER QUALITY (EPQ).

The note is from the number 12 block Series which is designated by the “12” on the left side of the note. The number 12 block is from the San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank (see pics). This note is VERY HARD to find in this condition. The numbering system was only used in the 1928 series of Federal Reserve Notes.

The upper left of the note states:

“REDEEMABLE IN GOLD ON DEMAND AT THE US TREASURY OR IN GOLD OR LAWFUL MONEY AT ANY FEDERAL RESERVE BANK”. So, at the time you could cash the note in for $ 20 in gold. Just imagine what that would be worth today if you received a mega rare $ 20 gold piece. Pretty cool.

The color just pops off the note. The margins are centered very well, and the ink just pops off the note.  The colors are bright and bold. The vibrant colors and well-preserved paper add to its visual eye appeal. The note has fantastic eye appeal.   The note shows no sign of wear on the corners or the sides.  All of the corners and edges of the note are crisp and clean.  There are no pinholes, rips, stains, or tears.
