1862 $100 CSA "LOAN" bond + 1864 $ 10 CSA note Excellent condition

An authentic 1861 Confederate States of America “LOAN” with the portrait of Robert M.T. Hunter, Secretary of War 1861-62. The note was fully signed and issued on April 11th, 1862. This “LOAN” was purchased exactly 1 year after The Civil War had started.
An amazing fact is that you can still see the original seal on the left side of the loan. It states: “CONFEDERATE STATES OF AMERICA. Plus, the low serial number which is 353. This bond has 5 $4 coupons still attached.
The ink is still bold and legible, and the paper is in great shape for a document that is 162 years old. The corners are perfect, no rips or tears, and no pin holes.
The bond is encased in a border with scroll work. Within the scroll work is “ONE HUNDRED”. The left side of the bond states ”EIGHT PERCENT”. The right side of the bond states “JULY 1, 1869”, which would have been the maturity date. On the top of the loan is “CONFEDERATE STATES of AMERICA” “LOAN AUTHORIZED BY THE ACT OF CONGRESS / C.S.A. OF AUGUST 19, 1861. The bond number is “ No 353” on both the left side and right side of the bond. In the main body is a paragraph outlining the terms of the loan.
The loan bears the ORIGINAL signature of Robert Tyler (Confederate Register of the Treasury).
He served as the Confederate Register of the Treasury during the American Civil War from 1861 to 1865. Robert Tyler (September 9, 1816 – December 3, 1877) was the eldest son of 15 children from John Tyler, the tenth President of the United States.
Another interesting fact is the picture on the “LOAN” of Robert M.T. Hunter is also featured on the February 17, 1864 $10.00 which is part of this auction. They will be sold as a pair.
Up for sale is an original February 17, 1864 Confederate States of America $ 10.00 bill. This note is in excellent condition being 160 years old. The black, grey, and pink ink is still sharp on the front, and the blue ink on the back is still very bold and visible. The note has no tears, rips, or pin holes. This is a solid uncirculated note. The note depicts several horsemen pulling a cannon in to battle. The number on the note is 229, with a slash at the end so no one could add any more numbers to the bill. This avoided counterfeiting.
The note has a picture of Robert M.T. Hunter. Another interesting fact is the picture on the “CONFEDERATE STATES of AMERICA LOAN” is also of Robert M.T. Hunter.
