This coin symbolizes the first motto of our great country, The United States of America!!! It represents our nation’s pride in its hard-won liberties and freedoms.

The coin has 1 Troy Ounce of silver that is .999% ( also called 3 x 9’s Fine ) pure silver bullion and has a beautiful satin finish on it.

One troy ounce is equal to 1.097 standard ounces, making it around 10% heavier per ounce.

On December 16, 1773, American colonists disguised as Native Americans boarded three British ships in Boston Harbor and dumped 342 chests of tea into the water. Led by the Sons of Liberty, the protest resulted in massive destruction of British property and accelerated the American Revolution.

The Tea Act (1773): Parliament allowed the East India Company to sell tea directly to the colonies, which, despite lowering prices, maintained the hated Townshend duty tax and threatened local merchants with a monopoly.

Taxation Without Representation: Colonists argued that they should not pay taxes to a Parliament in which they had no representatives.

They refused to pay the duty (import tariffs/taxes) when tea ships arrived. Colonists demanded they return to England without paying the tax. The Royal Governor of Massachusetts refused to let the ships leave without payment.

The amount of tea that was destroyed was over 92,000 pounds (46 tons). The value in today’s currency is worth more than 1 million dollars.

The front depicts a coiled rattlesnake, a design attributed to Benjamin Franklin, and the inscriptions “DON’T TREAD ON ME” and “ESTABLISHED IN 1754”.
