No, the Bunny Fur does not shred.

Is it supposed to come with the stuffing inside all crushed up and separated?

The foam is shredded, but if it has been packaged for a while it may need a little help. All you have to do is rub your hands back and forth feeling the chunks of foam and the clumps will dissipate and then you just have to wait 48 to 72 hours for it to expand. If you are in a colder climate it can take up to a week to fully expand.
The zipper is not broken. We clip the pull off your bed for child safety reasons. If you ever need to get into the bed to add or subtract foam you can stick a paperclip through the eye of the slide and pull back and it will open.

Is there a recommended maximum weight for king size bag?

There is no maximum weight.
Additionally, if a person wants to add more foam you can purchase more foam to make it firmer.
