CRŪ Winery began as a dream shared by long-time friends and entrepreneurs Richard Spencer and Mike Conway. In 2003, they purchased several wine-making assets, invested in the refurbishment of an abandoned processing facility in Madera, CA, and began to source grapes from some of California’s finest appellations. This selection of central coast wines showcases CRŪ's commitment and love for high-quality winemaking.

The 2017 CRŪ Sierra Madre Pinot Noir is sourced solely from the Sierra Madre Vineyard. First planted in 1971, the vineyard is located in Northern Santa Barbara County, near the western edge of the Santa Maria Valley. The Sierra Madre Vineyard is recognized as one of California’s finest cool-climate vineyards and the coldest vineyard in the state leading to a long, drawn-out growing season. The final blend was aged in 20% new French Oak Barrels, composed of Damy and Billon, consisting of both medium and medium+ toast levels for 9 months. This aging process creates a nose of freshly picked cherries, cedar, and earth. The complexity of multiple clones and elevations shows flavors of blueberry, pomegranate, cranberry, and infused tea that is nicely balanced with hints of toasted oak. This showcase wine is a true homage to classic Burgundian Pinot Noirs. It pairs perfectly with light, fresh fish like salmon or hearty meats like Tri-Tip.
