Daphne Horev paints outside the boundaries of reality. By integrating gold accents in her technique, subjects are detached from a realistic context and elevated into something approaching the surreal. In her own words: "I want to grant a halo of secular holiness to human wonders, hopes and doubts, embodied in simple things like a flight of cranes or a shell lying on the seashore after sunset."
