To produce a high-quality tequila, you need to follow a meticulous production process. In the Amatitan region of Mexico, blue agave is cut after 9 years of maturation. Farmers, also known as jimadores, then cut the agave with a coa, an ancient tool used to chop off the leaves of the agave for the pina. This is a traditional method that's been passed down for generations. After the fermentation and distillation processes, American oak woods house the tequila for 36 months. That's how Derechito's Extra Añejo Tequila gets its distinct flavor. With an intense bronze color, the nose offers a sophisticated wood aroma with notes of agave, chocolate, and nuts. Upon the first taste, toasted oak with a hint of sweetness fill the palate.
