Black Legacy Set

In early 2003, in the very beginnings of the Ellusionist brand, Brad Christian crafted a photoshop image of black tigers, and wrote a letter to the ultra-conservative, 126 year-old behemoth, The United States Printing Company. He asked them to simply do something they had never done before—he asked them to step outside of their comfort zone and allow the printing of an outrageous, completely black version of their beloved Bicycle deck. They loved how different the deck was, and thus, the custom playing card market was born.

The Black Legacy Set is a celebration of inevitable progress, featuring 3 exquisite decks that broke all of the rules and took no prisoners. Re-imagined, re-vamped, and re-invigorated with multi-level embossing and two tone foiling, the legacy continues with these all new designs.

The Bicycle Black Tiger deck sold its 5000 original copies in just 5 days. Surrounded by black foil, this deck has been redesigned from the ground up and sealed with a custom deck seal. The deck itself beckons startling memories of voodoo and witchcraft on burned and blackened cards. The iconic tiger features prominently on the box-front.

Only existing in folklore, the Black Ghost was a myth and occasionally witnessed in select Ellusionist promos and contests. Dragged into the industry by overwhelming demand, they became a reality. This all new design features a ghostly apparition of the famed rider-black design on the tuck in black foil, surrounded by soft paranormal embossing. Inside you'll find a modernized but familiar back design with updated pips and courts.
