A group of friends were having a sauna and drinking rye whisky when they began to ponder why no one in Finland was making any rye. The next morning, the journey of Kyrö began. In 2014 the stills were heated up for the first time at the old dairy and the first drinks were served in “Tourism Agency of lsokyrö”, a pop-up speakeasy bar in Helsinki. Once their first brew was a success, the team crafted a gin that sold out in two days.

Deeply rooted in the very heart of Finnish nature, Kyrö Gin captures the fragrance and flavor of a late summer evening. The unique 100% rye base mixed with local wild botanicals like birch and meadowsweet offers a new take on traditional gin cocktails. The nose of gentle citrus leads into a full-bodied herbal flavor with notes of pepper and rye on the tongue.

Kyrö Dark Gin is inspired by fierce weather. It is the perfect union of Finnish wholegrain rye and 17 spices and botanicals, and was aged in American oak barrels for 3-12 months for a richer taste profile. The nose offers a summer meadow that gives way to flavors of honey, orange and pepper that smoothly play with oak, and just a hint of flower fields
