The Fighting 69th is the 69th New York Infantry Regiment based in New York City's historical armory on Lexington Avenue between 25th and 26th streets. Founded in 1849 as the First Irish Regiment, the Fighting 69th was an all-Irish citizen militia created to train young Irishmen living in New York City in military tactics to fight against the British Crown for Irish independence. When the American Civil War broke out in 1861, the First Irish volunteered to fight for the Union cause and reorganized as the 69th Infantry New York State Volunteers. The unit would go on to fight in major engagements including the U.S. Civil War, WWI, WWII, Iraq, and Afghanistan. In the spirit and tradition of this time-honored regiment and the world’s finest Irish whiskeys, The Fighting 69th is proud to present an Irish Whiskey truly worthy of the 69th's 170-year tradition.

The Fighting 69th Irish Whiskey is distilled, aged, and bottled on the southern Irish coast in accordance with Irish law. Their unique mash bill combines superior quality barley and malted barley with pure Irish water, resulting in an extraordinary Irish Whiskey. This ToMo Exclusive Special Cask Irish Whiskey was aged in Port and Sherry casks so it is more full bodied that the regular bottling. The Port and Sherry imbue the whisky with more flavors of malt, chocolate, hints of raisins, and baked apples. The finish has notes of holiday cake, hazelnuts, caramel.

The Fighting 69th Irish Whiskey is being produced in conjunction with the 69th Infantry Regiment Historical Trust, which is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) entity. A portion of the sale of each bottle sold will benefit the trust and support its historic preservation mission as well as philanthropic activities on behalf of the Regiment’s veterans and their families.
