The American Traditional House Blender kit includes a glass jar and two American hardwood coils—White Oak and Cherry. These thin slices of wood have been charred on both sides, then steamed and curled to fit in a jar. When placed in a jar with your drink of choice, the wood rehydrates and the coil expands to fill the jar. Each wood coil is good for about four uses. Make the same thing four times or mix things up—the flavor of your first batch will add depth to your next creation.

With this kit, you can enjoy barrel-aged flavor without worrying about maintenance or leaks like you would with traditional barrels. Barrels need to be hydrated and conditioned before use, and often still leak. With the glass jar, you only get a small amount of evaporation. The clear glass also allows you to see your beverage changing color inside so it’s easier to track the progress.
