FAQ
What’s the cardboard box for? Will it catch fire?

The cardboard box is the charcoal pod that is used to fuel the grill. The box won't catch on fire as their is a perlite tray in the box, which is a form of volcanic rock, that insulates and protects the heat of the coals from burning the box.

Is there any specific equipment needed to use your own charcoal or must you use the pods?

You must use the HERO charcoal pods.

Can we reuse the charcoals and charcoal pod if we didn’t use it much? If it’s just one time use on the charcoals and charcoal pod, where do we get the refills?

The pods cannot be reused once they have burned once but you are able to buy refills online from the Fire & Flavor website.

What’s the temperature / heat / BTU created for the 60min?

The grill will heat to over 450 degrees within 10 minutes of lighting your charcoal pod. It will maintain a consistent 400-450 heat over the course of the 60 minutes and gradually start to cool off after the hour is done.

Can I use my own charcoal?

The HERO grill can only be used with the HERO Charcoal Pods so it cannot be used with other charcoal.

Can I put the grill back in the case when it’s still hot?

You will not be able to put the grill back in the case when it is still hot and have to wait until the grill is completely cooled to put it back.
