BaseCamp is 21ft x 12ft monstrosity of a hammock, designed for group hammocking in community spaces. Originally created for a music festival in Thailand, this hammock is a party in itself, and a portable gathering space pulling people together in the spirit of inclusion.

Each handcrafted hammock also helps provide a sustainable living wage for stay-at-home seamstresses in Northern Thailand.

FAQ
Can this only hold 3 200 lb people?

600 lb is the recommended safe load-bearing weight, mainly for the straps. The hammock can certainly hold more, however, this recommendation is based on safety concerns. No more than 600 lb is ideal when finding the right hanging angle as well, as more weight, the more it will sink in relation to how far apart your anchors are, and you do NOT want it to touch the ground.

Can this hammock be left out year-round in the Northeast, through all types of weather. Or must it be taken in/ out for each use?

It is always best to pack up after a couple of uses of not every use to ensure material integrity over a longer period of time. Sun can fade the color and comprise its strength of left out for months. If left out for weeks it should be fine but good proactive to pack up and leave the pouch with the hammock hanging from one end on the carabiner. Then just pull out the other end and clip when wanting to use it again. Rain could cause mildew.
