Product Description

This outstanding mineral slice was cut from a large Septarian nodule - a formation that began as a clay ball on the the sea floor during the Cretaceous period, 70 million years ago. Over time, the ball cracked and was filled with minerals. The centre has beautiful crystals surrounded by a polished exterior. The brown lines are aragonite, the grey rock is limestone and the yellow mineral is calcite.
