This extraordinary fossil shark tooth (Carcharocles megalodon) is from South Carolina. This impressive tooth is perfect for someone looking conversation piece. The gorgeous pyrite inlay sparkles beautifully in this attention grabbing tooth. There also some sharp serrations present.
Megalodon was the largest predatory fish to ever swim the oceans. Amazingly, bite marks have been found in whale bones. Scientists estimate that megalodon measured 10 feet for every inch of shark tooth length. This monster probably measured about 60 feet long!
