The dream began in 2010 when the founders of Freewaters, Eli and Martin, set up shop in a tiny art studio in the coastal hills near San Francisco. As product designers, they wanted to design footwear for those who want to travel without limitation, and as global citizens, they felt a responsibility to do more than just create great product. They wanted each pair to address a fundamental human need— clean drinking water. Redefining footwear as a tool for good, with every pair of shoes sold, Freewaters helps to support clean drinking water projects in Haiti, Kenya, and the Philippines.
