Crafted in the Lake Como region of Italy, Halcene’s neckties are woven from the highest quality natural materials and hand-sewn in three-fold construction. The fabric envelopes a supple interlining and is closed with a running slip stitch—a tiemaker’s hand-detail that loosely snakes the length of the tie’s seam. It allows the thread to move freely, or slip, between the folds in the tie’s fabric, giving it movement and affording it the flexibility to withstand the knots, tugs, and stresses of consistent wear for many years. While hidden, the slip stitch is evidenced by a small loop of thread within the back blade’s opening. As the tie ages, this loop can adjust the stitch’s tension, returning the tie to its original state and increasing the piece’s longevity.

Halcene neckties boast another hallmark of quality tie-making: the bias cut. The cloth is cut on a 45-degree angle from the grain, enabling the tie to flex with movement and keep its shape – eliminating any tendency to twist or distort with wear.
