This Athenian Hoplites chess set features a brown wood chess board that can also be used as a stowaway case, along with gold and silver Athenian Hoplite figures including:

Bishop: Perikles, the Athenian leader
Knight: Athenian cavalry man
Rook: Athenian grave stele
Pawn: Athenian hoplite

These chess sets are not meant to be stowed away after playing. The elaborate craftsmanship, premium materials, historic designs, and the attention to detail allow this set to double as a beautiful decorative object for any space.

Each figure is made on a basis of an original zinc alloy, then plated and finally varnished by hand. The chess boards are made of bronze and painted by hand. All the pieces are unbreakable for a lifetime of use.
