The practice of making Inden, soft tanned deer hide with intricate lacquered designs, goes back centuries, becoming part of standard samurai armor in the 16th century. INDEN EST. 1582 was there then, in the Yamanashi Prefecture of Japan, where they continue the art of Inden today, through a large variety of exquisite, lacquered, and history-laden leather goods.
