About the Designer

Having been mentored by the leaders of the watch world, educated at The Cheshire Academy (CT), Boston’s Emerson College, the Fashion Institute (F.I.T.) and New York University (NYU), Richard Kalina was more than ready to take the major challenge of the watch industry at an early age. Being driven to create his “magic watch company,” Kalina chose a small, private all Swiss committed manufacturer of exceptional high-quality, “Limited Edition,” mechanical timepieces. That company was “Jean Marcel.” Jean Marcel is not a mass marketed, mass distributed, mass produced and so-called Swiss-made brand – something you will never see up and down the street.
