Kennington has a storied history, and what began as Stan Tendler's tiny venture in his family garage turned into a fashion phenomenon. In the early '60s, Tendler made a product that merged several trends at exactly the right time: a roomy, structured shirt made with an Ivy League Style silhouette, done in prints inspired by postwar Californian counterculture — from hippies and surfers to hot rod car enthusiasts. Nowadays, Kennington has updated its detailing, but the product is still enthralling: these shirts still embody laid-back, Californian cool.
