This Original Koostik is the result of a year of product evolution and refinement. It is the company's first passive solid wood acoustic amplifier for iPhone, and this now iconic design is in daily use in over 30
countries. By combining two hemispherical sound amplification chambers with carefully designed sound channels, it achieves natural energy free amplification of between 10 and 20 decibels. This means an
increase of 2 to 4 times the volume. Please note that due to it's unique design, the Original does not allow for the connection of your charger while your iPhone is in use. It is a totally "unplugged" amplifier.

**Maple is a very dense American hardwood. It has uniform light coloration with attractive grain, and it finishes to a silky smooth feel. Maple ages to a slightly pale yellow color with time. Occasionally, maple exhibits mineral streaks which can range from brown to gray-green in color. These are natural to the character of the wood.

When prototyping the first Koostik product, designer Jim Simon worked with various materials (including styrofoam!) to come up with the perfect way to amplify the volume of the iPhone's external speaker. After he began working with wood, he reached a balance between aesthetic desirability and extreme functionality. He came to the design the company now calls "The Original," and Koostik, the company, was born. All of Koostik's woods are sourced from suppliers who practice careful management for sustainability, and the natural beauty of the wood speaks for the high quality of the product.
