FAQ
Android OS is notoriously vulnerable to hacking and malware. How is this Kwilt protected against hacking?

Android OS is mostly vulnerable because of the possibility to install applications. The Kwilt uses a locked down Android OS with no possibility to add third-party applications. The applications installed to provide functionality on the Kwilt devices are either developed by Kwilt or come from the Android OS SDK.

Will it work with WAV files?

Kwilt can read WAV files but cannot upload them via the Kwilt app. You would have to upload it to Kwilt via your Mac or PC after you set it up as a network drive.

Can you store movies?

Yes, you can store movies on your hard drive that will be connected to the Kwilt. It will read any video file.

Is there built in software to automatically upload files?

No, there is however an option for the app to automatically ask if you want to upload new items when you first launch the app after taking new photos and videos.

Can you download files from whatever source directly on to the Kwilt3? Or you have to have already downloaded files from any external harddrive, and then transfer to the Kwilt3 via USB/internet?

The Kwilt does not have its own built-in storage, your external hard drive becomes the cloud storage.

The way it works: Plug in your existing or new external hard drive into a Kwilt device and set it up with your router via wifi or ethernet using the Kwilt mobile app. Once it is set up, you are able to offload photos and videos from any phone to the connected external hard drive wirelessly and remotely. You can also then map the Kwilt device to your local network and access/transfer any files off your computer to the drive connected to your Kwilt.

How many devices can access this at the same time? Can multiple devices access the same file simultaneously?

There is no limit on how many devices can access at the same time. Multiple devices can access the same file simultaneously.

Is Kwilt a NAS? What does it do? Does it integrate with OneDrive and GSuite?

Kwilt allows you to make a regular USB drive into a NAS. Any drive you attach is accessible from the Kwilt app and/or by mapping it to your local network. The Kwilt mobile app allows you to sign in and view any content on your OneDrive and Google Drive accounts. Uploading/downloading to Google and OneDrive is not available, view-only.

Can you play stored files directly from the device to tv?

Yes, you can play any photos and/or videos stored on your hard drive connected to your Kwilt device to a TV via the Kwilt app.

Once set up via the APP, does it store/save all files on your computer and other devices automatically like iCloud?

No, any photos and videos you choose via the Kwilt mobile app will be saved to the hard drive connected to your Kwilt device. Any files you choose to drag and drop from your computer will get transferred to the Kwilt device, no automatic features.

Does it work with your iPhone?

Yes, it works with the iPhone. Download the latest iOS app from the App Store.
