The aluminum "Hot Dots" appear as small, circular indentations on the cookware's stainless steel bottom. Although valued for a polished appearance that coordinates with popular high-end appliances, stainless steel cookware traditionally heats more slowly than aluminum or copper. To thwart this natural property, aluminum disks are often used as a core in stainless steel cookware. While aluminum disks do improve heat conduction properties, Hot Dots Cookware takes it a step further with the "Hot Dots" technology. The dots transfer heat directly from the flame or cooktop heat source to the aluminum core. This increases heat conduction speeds throughout the pan and results in improved cooking times.
