About the Designer

Ilka Brand obtained a degree in Fashion Design from the HTW Berlin, University of Applied Sciences. She realized her love of accessory design while studying at NABA Academy, Milan and working for designers Preen and J.Maskrey in London. In 2008, Brand founded her label in Berlin. The first collection of Lapàporter bags was presented at New York Fashion Week. She has since been showing her collection at Berlin Fashion Week on Premium and Bread and Butter and at Tranoi in Paris. In summer 2008, Brand was invited to the Modefabriek in Amsterdam in the New Design Area. She also showed her work at the design shows DMY International Design Festival Berlin, the Blickfang in Vienna and Changing Room in Barcelona.
